Mt. Hope, Ohio auction

Quote:
Wickedly crowded....... Everything went for way over priced. I think it was because people were there to get stuff for 4H. I saw turkey hens selling for $110. I can get hens for $20. So I went home empty handed. I was hoping to get a Black SG Rooster. But even them went high. They weren't the best looking for the price they went for.

There was soo many people that it was hard to see the auctioneer and here what was going on. It was also hard to see what was in the cages.
Not a sale to buy stuff at at this time of year.

I went last fall and it was crazy... Great place to sell if you have the time to get over there!

Anyone want to take a guess as to how many cages you can cram into a little 2008 yellow cobalt (coupe)?

that they all fit---and they did miraculously!

Really, just for fun take a guess......

We did go to the restaurant across the street and it WAS very good! The cheese factory in Berlin(?) was neat too. Next year, I'm going to take a trailer and sell some birds, and then go check out the shops the next day. I recommend it to anyone (that's not claustrophobic). It definitely was crazy!

I met Ralph from Survivor. I'm really short and couldn't see what was being auctioned, so he offered to let me stand in front of him which was very nice. I never watch the show and didn't even know who he was. Then people kept coming over to get his autograph and get pictures.
It was pure craziness there! Definitely a seller's market in the spring and a buyer's market in the fall (so I hear). Can't wait to go again!

Nope, too high!

Oh, ok....
I was wrong, actually they didn't all fit. We had 15 cages, but we had to combine some birds into another cage, so we crammed 14 cages into our little yellow cobalt.

We got bantams and ducks.

Columbians, Chocolate OE, Australorps, BB reds, Mille De Fleurs, Mottled, Barred Rocks (beautiful!), Welsummers, blue call ducks, Khaki Campbell pair

I'm sure I'm forgetting something! We brought home 35 birds.....
