So my husband messaged me while I'm at work last night and our little ducklet has clear mucus coming out of her beak. She is right at 7 weeks old, Cayuga non created, and was outside with the chickens in the run, he brought her in late worried about her getting too cold since she isn't fully feathered just yet. What can we do for her to get her better?

Update: She is now having seizures, she has had two in the last hour and a half. I did some research and I plan to have him get some b complex and probably Apple cider vinegar to mix into her food and water. Please help?

Video is post seizure, she was still having these tremors and made a mess with her food and water dishes. She is also having slightly loose poops but not liquidy.

I would keep her warm, warmer than usual, but not overheated. The food additives are unlikely to contribute anything, but you can go ahead if you like. More beneficial would be water with electrolytes and a little sugar to boost her blood glucose.

She may have been pecked hard on the head or suffered a head injury in some way. Can you see any broken skin on her scull? That might account for the seizures.

The mucous could indicate either a respiratory illness or a crop disorder. How does her crop feel? Full, full and hard, full and squishy, or empty? Is she making any sounds as she breathes? Rattles, whistling, sighing, struggling with beak open?

The mucus and the whistling in her breathing have stopped. However she is still having seizures. The only thing I was able to get this morning was brewers yeast, the store was out of b complex, didn't stock niacin and told me I needed a script for Tylen 50.

I did not notice any broken skin on her head and she is not eating or drinking very much at all.

It's almost like she is struggling to stand up. She lays on the floor and her legs thrash out an she tends to start shaking. Her wings will continue to twitch for a while afterwards.

That does sound like a seizure, perhaps from brain damage. A head injury is only one source of brain damage in chickens. Here's some others:

- Nutritional deficiencies. Vitamin E and selenium and B vitamins.
- Contaminated grit. Petroleum distillates such as hydraulic fluid, motor oil, W-D40, paint thinner.
-Insecticides.
-Molds
-Some insects
-Lead paint. Old barns and sheds with peeling lead paint.

I was thinking that it might have something to do with the feed, we just switched them over from Manna Pro Non-Med Starter to 00 Brand Egg Crumbles. I noticed this evening that she wasn't touching the feed but would snack on the meal worms that my daughter put out for her. She started drinking again, but its less than she normally does. Not touching the feed also means that she hasn't taken in any of the brewers yeast yet...

As for the list from Azygous
- Nutritional deficiencies. Vitamin E and selenium and B vitamins. [Working on that]
- Contaminated grit. Petroleum distillates such as hydraulic fluid, motor oil, W-D40, paint thinner. [We forgot to buy grit when we got the new feed so she hasn't had any yet]
-Insecticides. [We don't use any around the coop]
-Molds [Haven't noticed any anywhere]
-Some insects [This is possible she was outside in the coop]
-Lead paint. Old barns and sheds with peeling lead paint. [Not near any old barns or sheds, been in the house and in brand new made coop]
