Hi everyone, today I'd like to share one discovery that might be useful to those who needed it! :D

Last night, my 2 month old lil chicky is having slight difficulty in breathing. I've also noticed that there was some slimy mucus coming out of his beak and his crop never emptied (soft and squishy) too .

I've searched on some webs and they say it might be due to infections (could be any causative agents) . Since there's no vet that I've known of is familiar with treating chickens, I've decided to just try and do something for my little baby before it is too late (he wasn't eating nor drinking, he was also very lethargic).

I've given some medication orally but in the end all of those would come out together with the mucus.

He was feeling uncomfortable so I flipped him over on his back and he slept better. To my surprise, when I flipped him back to his natural position, all of the goo came out . I did this multiple times because it seemed to make him feel and breathe better. (I don't recommend anyone to try this)

I've read people wrote how ACV can be beneficial to chickens gut . So I add 2 drops of ACV and some water into a teaspoon(larger chickens might need more). I know it sounds too acidic for them but I had no choice but to just try with hope that the acidity will kill whatever is causing the problem. Then, I drop little by little into his beak. A few drops of the mixture every 15 minutes or so . Prayed the best and went to sleep . This morning I woke up to him feeling better and hungry! His crop is also not as quishy and distended as before. I hope that this method is helpful to anyone who is reading this. Thank you!:love

Poor chick! I can’t recommend anything as I haven’t dealt with this before but best of luck to you and the rest of your flock or coop or whatever!
