Muddy’s homestead expansion journey!

I bought a dump trailer. It makes it really convenient for hauling a lot of things and makes it really easy to unload things like sand or gravel. It's much cheaper than having a truck. License plates are cheaper. No engine to keep in working order. In most states the trailer is covered by the insurance on the truck pulling it.

It is a large up front cost but if cared for properly will be a one time only purchase. If you buy feed (hay) in bulk, that is just one more use for it. They have been around long enough now that there are used ones available. I believe that you can also rent them for short term use.
We ended up having enough from the leftover pile. Mr muddy got it filled in nicely while I made a supply run. We have to move some more dirt into the area now to level up for the deck stairs before we can put down grass seed

One more project partially completed but functional :woot

Yeah, I have to agree, that would be hell.
Also aren't the dump trailers axles able to handle heavy weight like that better than regular trailers?
Either kind can have heavy duty axles. It depends on the original intended purpose of the trailer.

Adding sides to a trailer intended to haul one ton won't suddenly make it capable of hauling 5 ton.

The 16 ft is a car hauler so heavy duty dual axle 😁
