'muffs' on two day old easter egger chick?

Sooo... dumb question here but is it possible for a two day old chick to have baby versions of the muffs that easter eggers are known for and if so does that automatically mean it's a male?

Yes it's normal to see mini muffs on a bird that will have them as an adult and no it does not mean they're male. Note the muffs on the 2 pullets on either side, I think they're a week old here?

Muffs and beards are not gender specific, both sexes will have them if the genetics are right.
And yes, they are usually there when the chick hatches.

Yep..babies have them. Can't tell for a bit what gender. Just like most others.
