I think it is anything you want to do for your recipient. It might be a good idea to repost our preferences if we have any, so we can get an idea. I am up for anything. I love the thought of the creativity of the person making mine to be from her own imagination and uniqueness. I'm so excited! I love coming up with something I think my recipient would really like!

I would just do the stipple that you had originally planned to do. It's super cute and doesn't need any fancy quilting.
