Are All Mule Ducks or hinnie Sterile? can a male fertile some eggs?

Mules and Hinnies are both sterile. Hinnies will produce unfertilized eggs, though. A mule would be unable to fertilize an egg.

why cant mule male fertilize a mule female egg?they are both the same anyways so why cant they?

The chromosome numbers are so mismatched that they are unable to produce viable eggs or sperm.

Its just like a horse and donkey making a mule. The mule is sterile.
