Japanese is particularly fun on the alphabets because, yes, there are three of them. Hiragana, which is phonetic, Katakana, which is phonetic, but used for foreign derived words, and kanji, which is by meaning. There are about 50 each of the letters in hiragana and katakana, and thousands of kanji characters.That's really interesting!
