I made this bread yesterday and both loaves are almost gone...it is VERY good.

I had to add more water than the recipe called for to get the dough right but it raised up just as high as the picture and is a very soft nice bread.

I didn't have and flax seed so I subbed poppy seeds.

Your welcome...I made the starter and let it sit overnight. It got bubbly and all even though my kitchen gets pretty cool at night in the winter. All we use for heat is a fireplace and even though DH stokes the fire before we go to bed it goes out during the night and the house is pretty cool when we get up in the mornings and it take a little while to heat it back up...so this is a good starter.

That is one of my absolute favorite websites for recipes. I fix a soft rye bread from their recipes that is foolproof, easy, and yummy. Ill have to try yours, too, looks fab.
 
Holy Smoke! That looks GRAND! I like that the starter uses some whole wheat flour. Thanks for sharing the recipe.
