Multiple Chicken Deaths

I am glad to hear you caught some racoons. Sad to say where you catch one, there are dozens more. I keep an eye out for signs. Mud is my friend as i check for tracks. Our LGD does an awesome job protecting our birds and goats. But sometimes trapping is necessary.

That's good news.

Since you already have the trap, and appear to know how to use it and what to do when you find it occupied, I'd suggest you leave the trap out and baited up, if and when you are going to be around often enough to check on it. That would be most nights.

If you catch nothing, no harm done. If you catch something, that is one less thing to worry about. Keep going until all you catch is nothing. Goal is to get ahead of the problem....and stay there.
