Straight run chicks this spring and it looks like I'm ending up with at least 2/8 roosters. They're only about 8 weeks old right now, but just wondering when I should start think about separating or re-homing one of them? Both of them have pretty good attitudes still and not sure which one I'll be keeping so trying to stretch it out as long as possible.

Thanks..

Just wait until you decide which one you like better. Might be 18 weeks or 24 weeks, who knows. If they start to fight, then you know the time is now. I have two 12 week old Australorp cockerels right now that best buddies. One of them will go eventually but I am waiting to see which one seems more masculine! Lol.

Thanks. It's good to know I've got some time. I have one that I really like; super friendly, comes when called, always the first to run over when he sees me, etc. But, I know that can change when he matures; a big personality now may be a big attitude problem then - hopefully not, but who knows... Another couple of months to sort it out will be great - maybe he's stay friendly, maybe the other one - maybe they'll both have to go. ;)

Thanks again for the info...
