Hey new quail keeper here and my question is whether it is possible to keep two males in the same pen if there is enough room and enough females. I have a 5x3 pen with 5 hens and 1 roo in it. I was wondering if I put another roo in and increase the number of females in the cage will I have problems?

Hey Quicksilver, I have 9 Coturnix quail in a 2x4 pen 7f - 2m and they get along just fine. I also have another pen the size and have 5 tuxedos 4f - 1m and that male just won't let another male mess with his ladies even when I've tried introduce other girls in there. That being said, my humble suggestion would be to introduce them at night and keep an eye on them as much as possible. Coturnix are a bit mellower in my experience.
Hope that helps, good luck!

Short answer is yes and not really. If you put two roosters that werent raised together in the same cage and you will eventually only have one. The only easy way to run multiple roos is to raise them together in the covey from hatch. You can integrate them and it might go ok for a little while but eventually one will kill the other or give it a good try. When your running two roosters or more definitely give them all the space you can. Try for 2 sq ft per bird at least.

Since you're new to quail and BYC you may want to read through the stickies section which contains a lot of the general info on raising coturnix.
