I’m very new so don’t laugh but, what do you guys mean by rose comb? Color or shape?
Thank you, that’s a useful picture!![]()
And don't worry-- I grew up on a farm, and I still call everything that's not a straight comb a pea comb when I'm not actively thinking about it.
He isn't a Dominique. They have rose combs. Actually, in the US, most Marans don't have feathered legs. The French variety is the one that does.Actually, Apon closer look, 1 Is a BR hen and the Rooster is aDominique
And Sneebsey, It isn't a Cuckoo Maran, they have feathered legs, and darker barring.
I can get a picture of her foot tomorrow maybe, she’s a bit wild but the 5th toe is small. It could be a spur bud but I have no idea. These pictures have a better view of her feet but still not great#1. Cuckoo Maran
#2. Cuckoo Maran
#3. Speckled Sussex
#4. Buff Orpington and Speckled Sussex.
Could I look at a pic of the CM foot? I've never heard of any of those breeds having five toes. Are you sure you aren't courting a spur bud or someone?
Hmmm. Yeah, I can't really see it too good in that picture.View attachment 1243000 View attachment 1243001
