Multiple yolks!

Yes, I scrambled it and ate it! It was very yummy! And it was actually the first duck egg I've ever eaten!

Like I said, I have one duck who lays massive eggs. They are usually double yolks, which I thought this one would be. It wasn't any bigger than the doulbe yolkers I've gotten!

I had no idea protein was related to egg size. That's good to know. I have them on regluarblayet pellets, 16% protein. I might cut back though. I'm afraid one of these days shell get egg bound and I don't want that to happen.

I had a girl that also laying super sized eggs for a while. Same food as the other, but she insisted on those large egg. She must have eating tons of bugs full of protein. She was also still a new egg layer at that time. Now a year later she is laying just like the other ducks. Reducing the protein in the food will definitely help. You can get some cracked corn and mix it into the feed to reduce the protein. Just be aware that cracked corn can make ducks fat, so you may even have to cut a little bit back on the food.

Are duck eggs good to eat?
