mummy to be

Ha. It was so bad last night I'd be writing to you, fall asleep. When I woke up it looked like htgvfrsfhn... So I'd delete it and start over and repeat process! I'm amazed how well my last sentence came out!

I'm glad the situation with your brother isn't as bad as you thought. Just sounds like tempers are fraying all over which is understandable.
It was really lovely for you not to go to Maurice's birthday. That was totally unselfish. I hope they realise that. But as I was warbling on about before you need to do things that make you feel better and happy. Maybe they will follow your lead. How are the younger two doing?

That's so exciting about your new babies! Apparently the daughter of my Cayuga and Aylesbury was hatched under a chicken and she acts normal. But yeah I bet it gave the chicken a shock! Those Ancona ducks look similar to magpie ducks. Do you have that breed over there? Magpies are a bit darker though. I prefer the look of Anconas. I think 2 of my runner babies will have markings like that. Best get up and clean them out again!

We do have magpies over here and it was a close tie between wanting them and wanting Ancona's. Last night I learned that Ancona's are a cross of runners and magpies. So in a way I end up with both! Can't wait till I hear that they have hatched. I'll have to bug her and find out the due date.

The kids are holding up quite well. Getting rooms reorganized so they are rather distracted. And your right-maybe I'll spend some me time today. Glad to hear your chicken hatched duckling acts normal can't wait to see if mine hatch, last time I tried it did not go to well. I have to tell Bill that I am not prepared to buy any overseas chicks from him.

Haha Yeh that's a really long way for a poor little bird to come! That's interesting that they are a mix of the 2.
glad the younger 2 are doing ok, distractions can be good sometimes.
It's got really cold here again, I'm so cold! Wrapped up with knitted slippers and a warm scarf!

Wow-raining here and a bit cold but not to bad. In a normal sleeved shirt as compared to my usual tank top. So earlier you mentioned marmite-what is that? I don't think I have heard of it.

Marmite. It's like a spread you have on toast or in a sandwhich, it's just a yeast extract. It's thick and black! I like it but a lot of people don't! It's abit like veggiemite if you've heard of that. That's the Australian veggie based equivalent. Or we also have Bovril too which is similar but made from beef extract.

oh....sounds interesting-I do know what veggiemite is but I don't think I have tasted it. I'll have to put Marmite on my list of things to try. I'll look for it next time I go into town. Toast is a favorite food of mine so maybe I'll like it. So here is a candy question for you-do you have jelly beans? They are my all time favorite candy in the whole wide world as of right now!!

Jelly beans yeah. We have big standard yummy ones quite big with not much flavour or in the last he. Years jelly belly beans have come over. I'm guessing they're american.
Saw your post on the other chat, what have you done to your arm for it to be in a sling!!?? X x x

Honestly I don't know what I did to it, ha, must have hit it so hard I forgot. I just know my shoulder really hurts and my bone seems to be swollen. Dad says I strained it (or maybe I sprained it) pretty bad.

How are you and your ducklings?

It's all that whiskey isnt it :p Hehehee! Well try and rest it up a bit!

I am good thank you. Feeling much better now thank goodness. Ducklings are loud and messy but lovely. Can't believe how big they're getting! Did I tell you I tried to sex them. One is definitely a boy. The other 4 I'm hoping I'm lucky and they are girls but I doubt it!

So what do you normally do with your days at the mo? You still at school? I know you mentioned college at some point!?

I find that in my hatches I usually end up with mostly girls so It wouldn't surprise me if you did. And yeah I am resting it as much as I can stand, not really one for sitting still but....

My typical day huh? Well we actually homeschool and we will start our summer soon, I am in senior year and was going to go to school to be in Animal Control but my dad is trying to convince me to be a language interpreter, I do love languages and interpreting so maybe I will do that. I cook most of the meals and train the youngers to cook as well, I love to garden and try to spend time in the woods as much as possible. I spend a lot of time reading and am currently attempting to grow mushrooms. An odd combination but that's just me.
