thanks so much for the info, I wasn't going to order them now, probably in January. I am always in the habit of  getting over exited about the cute chicks I am going to get ,   when I get them I'll try to post there pictures, I'm getting 10 chicks, there breeds are: new Hampshire red, black Sumatra, barred rock, dark Cornish, silver and gold laced Wyandotte, white polish, salmon Faverolle, white cochin, and the silver spangled Hamburg. oh! make that 11 chicks, I also get the free chick with my order, e me and my mom are going to pick them up from the hatchery we live an hour and a half away so it will be a long ride there.    :yiipchick

This was my first year with N.H.Reds (actually they are really just called New Hampshire's) but they have earned a permanent slot in my flock. I just had one hatch out 6 duck eggs and she only layed six eggs before going broody and she has never been exposed to a mature rooster!
