Murray McMurray is on "Dirty Jobs" right now

I saw that episode a few times. The chicks didn't look abused to me,
at least what they showed on TV. What's actually happening off screen
is another story.

Let's face it folks. A chick's life ain't easy.

The reason they do that is because chickens hypnotize easily and it takes a shock to bring them out of it. Those chick are probably hypnotized and need shocked out of it to make them think of themselves needing food and water. I seen it done it is to easy for them to just lay there and die when they do that.

besides that they have tons of fuzz...

But is was still neat to see the process of that on tv. Although I would not reccomend using their processes unless you know what your doing.

But if you think about it, if you order from any hatchery, I'm sure they all do it the same way

Yeah...I watched it. Umm. Even the interviewer was concerning about the handling of the chicks. Does it hurt them? I'm sure it gets their adrenaline going...no doubt. Will they remember it? Nope. We don't like it, and it does look like a chick could potentially get hurt, but, I assume, it doesn't happen often. Yikes.
