I'm not sure I can fully believe you though if you let them sleep on your porch with a nightlight!

HAHAHA Busted. Look my birds are here for a practical reason, but I want to make sure that I give them the best, most comfortable life possible before I, um,... yeah. So, I have that weird conflict between leaving the porch light on for them and then... eating them (well, eating the culls/young). I'm clearly failing with at least that one goose, but I really do want to give my birds the best life they can have. Despite what their end will be.

Edit: I let the turkeys roost/sleep on my truck... and crap all over it.

I think growing your own poultry and having a bird live and die with dignity is very admirable. Good luck!

very pretty geese, and the rooster looks to be a ham.

Yes, that roo totally is a ham. And thank you, I think they're lovely birds, too - But I could be biased.

They all seem to be doing well so far and not overly ravenous (well, I mean, they want the candy...) so maybe it was just that one, poor, goose.
