muscovey drake feed

My phone won't upload them for some reason! We have plenty of stables and sheds so if it got to cold for early chicks bringing them in would be no problem

there still very nervous so I'm just doing my best to get them used to me and show them I'm not a threat, I'll take some pics today and put them up! The only other problem I have is the hens are running at them and bullying them a bit, we bought a bantam cockerel at the same time we bought the ducks and the hens just attacked him the whole time at night so he's now in with the ducks

I'd keep the ducklings separate from the hens till everyone has had time to adjust, chickens can really hurt ducks I have seen on here where they actually killed ducks the age of yours and they will do harm to a young cockerel too, so best let everyone meet through the safety of fencing for a while.

Thanks,so these will stay that brown colour? Next few ducks I get will hopefully be rescue ducks so looking forward to giving them a new life!

That will be awesome to do rescue and give a loving home to some. My first ducks were rescues from the river below us. Still have one he is 11 yrs old now.

they may change some as they continue to get their adult feathers but I believe you have chocolates. Beautiful color.

How are they doing feeling more at home?

There settling in nicely calmed down a bit and eating and drinking a good bit just a matter of getting them used to me now and also I don't think they foraged much in there old home so I want to try and get them to forage some more but that will come with time

I like to go out and sit with mine and give out treats best way in the world to get them use to you. Frozen thawed green peas is a favorite and dried meal worms is another and if you can get water melon that is a big hit right now since we're in summer.

They'll love to be able to forage when the time comes.

Thanks you've been a great help! I've gotten another house so I might get my bantam a woman :D I just hope everything goes smoothly when the duck goes broody for the first time!

I think your New roo would like a [woman] lol I have bantams and I love them they have such sweet personalities.

Keep us posted and believe me Scovy's love to brood and most make excellent mamas so if your not careful you'll go from 2 to 20 in short order. lol I believe it's their main objective to take over the world

Haha sounds good to me the more the better! I wanted a duck that would go broody a lot and take care of her own ducklings and also one i could hatch other eggs from and I think I really hit home with the muscoveys! From what I've heard there excellent :D
