Basic question - will/can the ducks use the same coop as the chickens. The coop has plenty of room in it, and our birds free range from sun up to sun down. I know muscovies like to roost high, the coop has nice high roofs. We are going to "ground" the muscovies by clipping wings. I figure they will just climb up the ladders in the coop to roost and be OK. Just wanted to make sure they don't need separate housing for some reason. we have 20 more days to go until the ducks hatch, so I have some time if I need to build.
Thanks

The only objection is that some of that muscovy "ugly" might rub off on your chickens.

At the very least the chickens would have to look at them morning and night.

the only problem that i see is that the ducks are SO wet! so we just tacked on another shed along side the hen house for their coop. works like a dream.

however after i let everyone out my big ol' drake is standing there in the hen side... but i think he's eating flies so he can stay

Cool! The wet thing is not an issue. The ugly is not an issue either, I like those faces - makes me think of Klingons. The muscovies will be in our ample backyard, with no pond. So they will be flightless and dry. They might try to swim on my wife's fountain, but it is a large Zen type and basically has just a film of water on it. So they will be walking on water

One more quick question - will they use the nest boxes in the coop with the chickens, or do they need lower ones?
