Muscovy and feed

I have a flock of chickens about to lay. I just talked to someone else who has a mixed flock and she just feeds layer rations and then they free range. Is there a problem with the duck eating layer rations?

I actually think the protein amount makes more of a difference .. My full grown ducks get a scoop of laying mash with their ducky rations. They seem to like it. They are 12 weeks old also foraging and veggies from the garden as supplements .. Check with a vet for the % of protein is appropriate, and make sure the feed has no antibiotics or medication.
