Hi. I was given a pair of Muscovy ducks by a friend who was moving. I have plenty of room and she knew I would take care of them. I know nothing about ducks, but I'm learning and read lots online. My hen has laid 11 eggs in the top of my horse trailer. I don't know if and/or when I can move her, because when the babies hatch, it's a long way down. I have made "steps" out of bales of hay to try and keep everyone safe. I know that Muscovy ducks incubation period is a little longer, but this mama will not leave these eggs. After 3 days, I started taking her fresh water and food everyday. It's been about 30 days now that she's been sitting. Some of the eggs appear to be a little darker than some. Is this normal? Also, early on she would let me pet her and talk to her when I brought her feed/water. Now, she tries to peck me and wants me out of the trailer. I do just leave her alone now. Is this all normal. I appreciate any information you all can give me. Thanks

Sounds normal to me. I wouldn't be too worried about them falling. Muscovy incubation varies from 33 - 38 days, so you're getting close.

Muscovies are often regarded as the most capable of all poultry at hatching and rearing their young.
