Muscovy Duck Nesting

Greetings,

One of my Muscovy ducks has recently started to lay eggs. For a few days she decided to nest in our briar patch. However, today she was not in her usual spot, or in any other possible nesting spot. She appeared to have vanished. She did show up again this afternoon. But I am wondering why she might have decided to have left her nesting spot, and where she could have possible gone.

She could have gotten spooked of her original nest, found a better spot to set, or even found somebody else's nest and is sitting on them.

Your taking a big risk letting her nest with out security. Her eggs and her will be open to predation.
