Muscovy ducklings

What color were the parents? I ask because if both parents were black then all of the chocolates are female. @Pyxis, that's correct, yes?

Well dad is definitely a black drake. It was a community nest of three black and two chocolate females. I intend to keep some of the females and eat the birds or sell them as finished birds. People really want muscovy meat which l was unaware was a hit commodity around here.

Beautiful birds! And don’t feel bad about not knowing. I have 2 that are probably about 14 weeks old now and, although I have no doubt that one is a drake, the other is still a mystery!

Good to know. I have someone coming Thursday to buy a drake and two ducks. I am certain of several drakes but there are still a mystery few. I guess I will until they begin to trill or hiss at me.
