i have a female scovy (shes head bird after the drake) that seems to be throwing her weight round a bit too much. in december she managed to drown one of her own daughters in the pool (she kept mounting her and would not let go, i didnt get into the field fast enough and sadly the daughter died)
anyhow shes at it again, i went out this morning and found her on top of one of my younger girls, they werent in the pool this time but in a huge puddle of muddy water. the poor younger scovy (7 months) had her whole head under the mud, i just saw bubbles and feared the worst, but got to her in time. i had to beat the other off her with a stick!
ive brought her inside, hosed her down in the shower with slightly warm water to get the mud off, but im guessing shes inhaled some, shes sitting up but keeps making funny gargling noises.
so two questions
can i do anything more for the victim? something i could give her or just keep her warm until shes dried off and hope for the best?
and question 2 - is this older female a lost cause? shes a great broody duck which is why i kept her on after he last incident (my man wanted to send her to the pot) but now its nearly happened again im unsure what to do with her? she's my only pied female and absolutly stunning but i cant trust her round the others.
