Muscovy Ducks

Here is a pic of mine at 7 weeks. So, it looks like yours could be 8 weeks. They grow so fast, I forgot. Lol
You probably can't tell, but the black one is my drake and the other ones are females. He was always bigger than they were (are) and came from the same hatch.
Males tend to round everyone up and tell them what to do. ;)

As far as the water, as long as they have it deep enough to dip their head in they will be fine. However, mine love the kiddie pool especially when it is fresh!
If you get pics of the two ducklings side by side, legs, body, etc.., we can try to help you sex them.
So, your daughter has the rest of the ducklings?
I am sure, your new ducks will be looking great in no time!

They are glorious! Such great colors!
Waldo seems a teeny bit bigger than Wende, I think the Wende has a soft feminine looking face, but I am human I don't wanna know what they think of my aged beautinis. Lol. But like I said these are my first ducks , or maybe I didn't say that, any way I am loving watching them and I did manage to get Waldo to eat from my hand. Made me feel special since the others don't mind me, but I don't think they trust me yet either.

If the drake is going to really hurt them I will build a solitary space for him, but if he is doing normal drake stuff I don't want to interfere in the running of coop business as I am only the unpaid staff and stealer of eggs. Gosh, that kinda makes me sound like a weasel! I just introduced the new chicks to my coop and I know the crew that lives there will not be as impressed or poo poo as I am with them but I also know they are not in danger from my flock. So I guess that is kind of what I am asking is if there are danger signs or pecking order arrangements going on with the ducks. Is that a clear question, or kinda babbly?

They are always in this order from me. The closest one I think is male the other female. The lower pic is the one I call Waldo I think he is male.

From the pics their legs are the same thickness. Is that what you see In person?
If so, they are both the same sex.
Very cute though. I am thinking 6- 7 weeks. As mine had some nice feathering on their backs at 8 weeks.

This is my drake close to 8 weeks. He was developing angel wing. I got it straightened out though. But, see his feathering?

You have beautiful ducks! I still say his coloring is glorious!
And yes I do see what you are saying about the feathering on his back.
The legs do look similar I have not really focused on that they seem to grow by leaps overnight! If they are same sex I pray
Dear God let them be females! Amen.

Here they are almost 10 weeks. This is the best shot I have that illustrates the differences in their legs. His look like one of those big thick pencils they used to hand out in kindergarten. :D
