Muscovy Ducks

If they are both females it will be ok that one is Waldo, I have a Rooster named Lulu. If they are drakes it will just be keepin the tradition of males with girly names. Lol

I want to thank you for taking time with me today. I am feeling better already about being able to give them a good home.

You have beautiful ducks! I still say his coloring is glorious!
And yes I do see what you are saying about the feathering on his back.
The legs do look similar I have not really focused on that they seem to grow by leaps overnight! If they are same sex I pray
Dear God let them be females! Amen.
Thank you. I hope they are females too. That would be the best for your flock!

The ducks have been here for 2 weeks now and already I notice less flies and mosquitos! That is a bonus, AND yesterday I made the best banana bread to ever come from my kitchen and I have been spoiled with fresh chicken eggs for over 8 years now. But those duck eggs added a spongy pound cake likeness to the bread that was fantastic! I can't wait for the zucchini to be ready!

I’m pretty new at this but I just love my ducks, they are very lucky ducks, my husband says. I’ll attach their duck house where 3 are nesting. I’m going to catch all 4 drakes this weekend and put them in a loafing shed that is huge, 20x50ft and is 15 ft tall with 4 big screened windows. I’ll make sure they have pleanty water and food. I have a home already for Blackie, perhaps they want 2 drakes. How old should I let the ducklings get before I let them out?
Your new Muscovies are intruders they need to be introduced with fencing in between a resident flock will rarely accept newbies right off set up 2 pens side by side keep new ones separated try letting them live side by side for at least a week then let them all out together there maybe some chest bumping or chasing but as long as it doesn’t get serious let them work it out. And yes keep all drakes separate from moms and ducklings mine are usually around 3 weeks old before all are allowed in the same area
Here they are almost 10 weeks. This is the best shot I have that illustrates the differences in their legs. His look like one of those big thick pencils they used to hand out in kindergarten. :D

Your ducks and ducklings are beautiful, I love the colors. I do have 2 drakes with the beautiful blue green teal color. Another is all white and a bit smaller than the others, and the 4th drake is white, black, beige, but more white color than other colors. It’s going to be hard to decide which 2 that I need to find homes for since I only have 6 hens. Plus, again, I don’t know which one is killing the babies.
