Muscovy ducks?

We just have plain old domestic blah ducks at our local ponds

if i saw a muscovy you bet i'd try to win it over and bring it home though!

i've NEVER seen muscovies in the wild. i didn't even know about them until about 6 months ago when i got me some lol.

WHen I moved into my house four years ago there were three wild scovies that came around to be fed everyday. Thats what got me interested in ducks when a year later I rescued my first duckling.

I am wondering if those I saw belong to anyone as I have never ever seen that type around here (upstate NY). They were at the same pond today - if the smaller ones with less red stuff on the face are female, then there's two female and one male. Very odd! This is a rural farm area and a lot of people have chickens -one neighbor has geese, so maybe someone bred those ducks also?

I'll keep an eye out on my walks.

They could be dumped animals.. Since there was a ban on muscovys that was supposed to go into effect that wouldnt allow you to sell, breed, or give away muscovys. Some one may have got scared and dumped them..

A good note. The ban on muscovys has been put on hold.. Lets hope for the best that they let us keep our scovies..
