I took 9 Muscovy eggs from my young muscovy's nest 18 days ago (one was layed by another so I'm saying the oldest egg was 8 days old before setting) and set them in my incubator.

I candled on day 10 and 8 were fertile.

Day 18, when I shine a light on the eggs some have started to wobble. Is this normal, it seems very early?

This is my first Muscovy duck incubation so I'm a bit nervous.

Where they already being brooded when you took them? Muscovy's normally take 35 days so I'm thinking that was the case? They sometimes can hatch early if your incubator runs a little warm.

No, I know for sure as she is still quite young and only just started laying. Mine are all free range and when she was laying these in her hutch in the mornings she then spent all day on the dam and these were from her new nest and the only nest being laid in at the time as it is autumn here.

No, the eggs themselves. If I shine a torch into the incubator (as I do to check my hygrometer that is inside) three of them give a little wobble afterwards...I suppose if I candle them tonight I might see if they are pipping internally - which I assume is the only reason the egg would be wobbling...? but I can't imagine this to be possible even counting between 8 and 6 days from laying date.

Will do :thumbsup....hopefully my basic photography skills are up to it :D
Sorry no photo's that are worth posting. Some of my eggs look like they have stopped developing and I can see signs of a blood seeping through the egg from detached veins😢. Not sure would caused the wobbling phenomenon....? Earth tremors😆 They are all quiet now. I hope some survive 🤞 - I feel like I have a long haul still! Thanks for response silverbirds

You may have just bumped the incubator then. Or the table. Any light tap of the surface or incubator can cause them to shake. I hope they do well! Keep me posted!
