Muscovy excitement! (and questions)

Here's the gang at 8 weeks

11 weeks. Beginning to fly. Clipped the first one. The others got real good at evasive manoeuvres.

I wait till my Muscovy's go into their house for the night then I walk in behind them and pick them up for wing clipping. They really are evasive other wise. lol

Clipped another two (friendly ones), but the two I have left are too wary to let me close. Loud screech and jumping if I manage to get my hands on them. Tomorrow: a handful of worms as bait and a large towel or something to catch them.

Large towel would work and gloves to protect your hands and long sleeve for arm protection.

X200000 on Miss Lydia's points. My arms look like hamburger after clipping flight feathers the first time. I'll never attempt without a large towel and long sleeves!!! Those legs are strong!!!!!

At 14 weeks now:
- flock reduced to 3
- they've started mating
- losing some feathers, adult feathers starting to come in
- they've made a nest-like indentation in the coop bedding

The drake has been quite aggressive trying to grab my leg, perhaps he was just frustrated / confused?
