Muscovy Gender

I know,

I know. There are a billion of these, but I've read every thread and I'm still stumped.
I have 2 muscovies. They are both the same size and sound the same and have the same just tiny beginnings of caruncling. They are approx. 7 months old. This is Petunia. Can anybody recognize gender from my picture?

i think its a boy but i m no expert i do own 9 muscouvy wait until some one else gets that can tell for sure

Looks like a duck to me.. at 7mths? for a drake should be much bigger all over.. way more facial fleshing how about vocals? while ducks do hiss they also coo, trill, honk.. chirp..

That's them at 7 months? mine laid fertile eggs at 7 months! And had caruncles when they were 4!

Drakes flesh faster.. most ducks it's takes longer, but does vary. Aging of point of lay varies too.. this winter would have slowed many off.. mine usually all resume in Feb they didn't till March and no way are all back...

@GoingQuackers They both "gasp" which I'm assuming is the same as hissing? They talk to each other by making little noises in their throats without opening their mouths. I'd call it cooing maybe? They get really excited when they see me, stand up real tall, put up their crests and suck in a ton of air which makes this sort of long gasp. I thought at first they were trying to intimidate me, but they only do it for me and I'm the one that feeds them so now I think it's a greeting I hope. You're pics are great! I think mine are closer to the females in your pics, but maybe a little bigger. They are both gentle, but just in the last couple weeks have become A LOT more vocal and bolder in approaching me and act in a manner I can only assume is "broody". They never have tried to pinch me before, but when I pet their tails (they only let me pet their tails, ha!) they reach their heads back like they might! I've read drakes can sometimes be a bit more aggressive. Haha! Just when I think I've got the right clue, something changes! Eggs sure would make it easy!

They are so funny. I'm very fond of them, but I don't know if we have enough room for enough ducks to accommodate 2 drakes!
