Our Muscovy hen had two eggs (I took the rest; don't want more ducks); one hatched but died next day (I think a goose killed it) and the other egg was pushed out of the nest, I found it cold and it had been about 2 months since she laid it, so must have died. Now, there are no eggs but she still sits there. She comes out for a bath and to hang around with her mate, the two geese, and the hens, but she goes back and sits on the nest. This has been going on for a week with no eggs in the nest. Will she be OK? I don't think she'll lay more eggs now as it's mid-October.

Sorry I cannot help much, but my Silkies do a similar thing. But them being chickens, the situation might be totally different. What I do with them, is we keep moving them out (The ones we know are defiantly not laying) and soon enough they realise they are not sitting on anything and walk away.

Sorry I can't help you much.

She'll get over it. I had simular thing happen this summer, she finally came out on her own. Just takes time for the hormones to get regulated again. Just make sure she is eating and drinking. You might want to add something like Nutri drench to the water for about a week just to help her over this slump. TSC carries it. I also use it during molt. I tried carrying mine outside a couple times a day but she really had to do it on her own.
