Muscovy incubators support group.

I have a muscovy hen that is broody and has been sitting on eggs for 3 days now. I think she has about 20 but will check tomorrow. I keep having to take her off the nest to remove chicken eggs, today I say one of my redstar hens sitting on her laying an egg

So far though she seems very determined to hatch her eggs.

Yay! 35 days is FOREVER...

I just put 12 muscovy eggs in my incubator today.

They are shipped eggs and there are a lot of loose air cells, but hoping for the best

Last year I had 16 shipped scovy eggs (a lot of them with large misshapen/broken air cells) and hatched out three ducklings.

One of my hens sat on fifteen eggs, then the week we were expecting babies she quit. We checked the eggs and found seven with internal pips but no movement or sound and completely cold. We put those in the incubator with the chicken eggs and the rest by the woodstove (small bator). And prayed for them all day. They'd been warm for several hours and nothing. In the middle of the night my husband woke me up to tell me he heard peeping. Two days later one miracle duckling hatched

My other hen sat on 11 eggs and hatched eight adorable babies!!!

Anyway, it will be fun to see everyone else's progress while I'm waiting til MAY(!!!) for mine to hatch.

WA4-Hpoultrymom,

That drake is SO pretty! I have a hen named Panda that looks a lot like him. I bet they'd make cute babies

I just candled, its day 10. I threw out NINE clear eggs...and the remaining three, I believe are no good..they have the beginning of blobs but look like early quitters. I will give them until LockDOWN of our muscovies to redeem themselves, though...

Those scovy eggs I cant really see anything anymore- I can see some veins but the rest of the egg is dark...yay us? Or more like..

One of my hens had 15 eggs in her nest when I counted last night. I'm not sure at what point she will start sitting, but I see her more and more in the nest.

I cannot wait to see what these little ducklings will look like! She, Etta, is out with a blue laced pied male (If I have that right). My male, Elvis, has more white than Etta.

I have 2 1/2 dozen Scovy eggs that are going in the bator on wednesday

I am supposed to get my new bator tomorrow or tuesday and I know it will take a day or two to get the temp right.. Oh some of those eggs may be Pekin cross because the eggs are not marked so I am assuming I will be able to tell those because they will hatch early.

And this will be my first experience with an incubator ever.

So wish me luck! And I will keep you updated.

I also have 6 coming from ebay, but dont know when they are coming.
