Muscovy keepers share your pics!

So just over the past couple of days one of my drakes has had tiny white bubbles/foam around one of his eyes..any guesses what that could be from? I've rinsed it out well several times but it keeps coming back

I've seen it in a few of mine at times, I used Veterycin sprayed into the eyes it clears it up in a few days. Then again maybe the start of respiratory or could just be dust. But if you can get some Veterycin try that then just keep any eye on him make sure you don't see drainage from the nares. But most likely it's just an irration of some sort. Also try putting 1-2 Tab of Apple Cider Vinegar in his water bucket[1gal of water] he'll wash his face in it and it can help clear up some things.

Grr, my naughty muscovies are being brats. They fly out of their area, which I wouldn' t mind, I would in fact love to start free ranging them, except, even though I have seven acres, they choose to walk across the back yard, all the way across the other yard we have - used to belong to my grandma but is ours now - across the road, and onto my neighbor's front yard. The neighbors don't mind since they also have poultry but I sure do. It's a slow road but I still don't like them crossing it, and I don't know why they won't just stay in the darn yard like all the other birds do. I don't know if clipping their wings would help, but I don't want to if I don't have to, I like the little extra predator protection of them being able to fly. I don't feel like I can let them out though because they go so far and I have to round them up and herd them all the way back and I'm not convinced they'd come back on their own. Yesterday they did but I think only because they heard me giving the other birds treats before I went to collect them.

I do free range mine and they are unclipped that said wandering across a road? that is a deal breaker, sorry but your libel, if someone got into a crash(at least here) so in that case i'd have to clip.

I find it's usually after a lot of noodling in dirt and debris, i keep an eye(pun not intended) and only treat if the eye appears swollen, or pussy. It usually goes away on it's own with no ill effects.

Foamy eye is caused by poor conditions, dirty bathing water, heat, and stress. if the climate changes fast then that can cause it as well, its a natural process but if not kept clean then it can become infected

Ok thanks! He has access to clean water at all times, and free ranges on 5 acres everyday. But it has been severely windy here for the last week or 2, so maybe the dust has been bothering him. I'll keep it washed out and use the ACV in his water. Thanks for the help!
