Muscovy keepers share your pics!

My drake Elvis has been chasing Truffle a lot. I saw him mating Trouble, but she is much smaller and he squished her flat.

I have been going out looking for eggs, but none yet. They are in an enclosed pen, so idk where they might possibly be hiding them?!

Should I separate my drake? I want them to feel safe enough to lay eggs, but if they are always running away from Elvis because he is so amorous, it would be less stress on them?
Most of the time the ducks start mating before they start laying eggs, how old are they?

Adorable!!

thanks

So cute!!! My mama duck still has 2 weeks left on the nest - it feels like forever!!
Congratulations on your new babies!!

Yes I know, I kept peeking at her,, it takes forever

we are in the same boat. my one girl is quite friendly now with the drake and I keep checking for eggs, to no avail. I don't think she's started laying yet, but soon. It's like Christmas and Easter all rolled up into one when you get that first egg! When my marans pullets started laying, my husband laughed at how thrilled i was. And I've had chickens for years, it shouldn't be anything new.
But ducks ARE new this year. I'm going to post pics here, FB and text friends and family whether they like it or not

Lol. My ducks are 9 months old and 6 months old.. maybe a bit older.

I have wiped away the information in my mind so I won't think about EXACTLY how long it took to get my first muscovy duck eggs.

Soon I hope! I have noticed that every day the gate to their pen gets mysteriously opened around 11 am, but everyone is accounted for. I might go on an egg hunt later today.
