yay! interested in some pics!I've got pips! Should have some babies in the next 48 hrs. Hopefully my chocolates hatch.
Congrats!!!
I think what ur doing now is good keep him away from the others until some feathers start growing back so it doesn't make his flight feathers more jacked up. I've personally never had a feather plucking problem. I think it's because my Muscovys free range every once in awhile and I have a pond plus then pen for them is huge 70x50 if I remeber correctly the more room the betterAh so not new to Muscovy as I raised them when I was young, but I haven't had any in about 25 years now. This week I picked up a couple ducklings that were in a bad situation. One of the dominant ones plucked all the babies flight feathers coming in and left them a bloody mess. Since I got them home the black one has been an absolute monster. It's ripped my hand open a couple times. I am sure I could have used stitches the once but a few butterflies and an immobilized has worked for now. This same duckling has now decided to start plucking the feathers. This is a huge problem and I won't tolerate it in my flock. I understand that sometimes it's just a phase but how long does it last. For now it is in solitary confinement with a high protein game bird feed and a supplement.
Help?! Anyone want it? (Only somewhat kidding. I think I would totally give it away)![]()
