I have a little broody girl sitting on her first clutch. She is only 9 months old. My male drake did get to her, but i am not sure if these are viable or not. She has nested way under the porch. There are seven eggs. My question is, when will she give up if they dont hatch or do I watch and wait and remove them after awhile? Will she sit on eggs that arent viable?

Check them at 2 weeks n u will know 100% if they are good or bad. Candle them. If she is anything like mine was she will sit till she hatches some lol

I have three adults that I got from my sister's friend about a month and a half ago. The older female has started laying consistently now (I think my chickens' broodiness has gotten to her; it's like a disease!) I didn't think she was going to keep laying this time since she only laid 3 eggs last time. I gave the first 3 this time to my hens to sit on for a while. Now that I know the eggs are fertile and growing, I would like to know what color ducklings to expect. Also, what the actual colors of my adults are. And will my hens lay on them until they hatch?
