My broody's carnucles do get paler when brooding but once the are through and get back to laying again they red up pretty quick.Hey guys another question. I was doing some research and found that their caruncles change color when they go broody. Is this true?
I'd say Fred is a little behind what about the other one is it more feathered in?
Sorry to hear that but Buddy will be happier for sure. We do what we have to to keep our girls safe and the flock happy.Heading down to Kingston, OK today to sell Buddy to a couple that want him for breeding purposes. Wish I didn't have to, but he's too sexually aggressive with my 5 girls. They're old and have never been around a male, so his attempts to mate with the girls were terrifying them. It would have been cruel to leave him in with them. If I kept him he'd have to be separated and by himself all the time and I don't want that for him. He needs to be around others of his own kind that can handle him. I'm really bummed out about it, but it's what's best for him and the girls.![]()
I felt good about the people I gave him to today. They seemed to really care about the muscovies they keep and they have a nice big pond and a lot of young females that I'm sure he's going to take to immediately the way he did my girls. I trust they have his best interest at heart. The people I bought Buddy from kept him in a small swampy cage crammed together with about 30 other ducks. A few were sick. I'm surprised there weren't more like that. I'm glad he's gonna have a great new environment to thrive in now.Sorry to hear that but Buddy will be happier for sure. That's great hopefully he'll fit right in. You mean you didn't bring home another girl.I felt good about the people I gave him to today.
