When do scovies stop being broody?


When they hatch babies. Incubation is 35 days I think. If you don't want them to go broody, keep taking their eggs. Mine don't sit if they can't fill their nests. They will sit on them to protect the eggs at night before they actually start sitting full time. So if you're missing any in the group at night, they have a hidden nest somewhere.
 
Need some advice from fellow Muscovites.
My hen needs a dusting for mites.
I've have better luck giving a pelvic exam to a bred heifer! She is not amused by my ministrations.

Any suggestions, other than 2 helpers and big fishing dip net?


I don't dust. I use a liquid spray. Same chemical just liquid. One spray under each wing and one at the base of the tail under the feathers. I do my chickens the same way. It's fast and easy. The spray I use is a stable fly spray, but directions say it can be used on poultry.

We have one hiding we found and three that are hissing if we go into barn each in barn has two or three eggs each.
