Thanks he won champion jr waterfowl champion standard duck champion duck and reserve champion waterfowl out of 80 Ducks and 25 geese and with showing muscovies it's easy u just give them clean water to bath in and sometimes on my drakes I have 2 clip any feathers cingular through his caruncles!!!

I labled them according to what I thought colors were but feel free to correct me there too. THANKS!

So confused as this is what I came up with!
Drakes hiss..but so do females (but they trill too)
Drakes have huge feet and thicker leggs (but females can fool ya)
Males have crests they can raise at will (but females have them too)
Males are twice the size (but not always).
Was the case with one when they came, and they all had stubby winglets then, but have evened out since then.
2-3 somewhat smaller but not a HUGE difference.
Males have a heavy footed waddle. Mine are ALL so fat! With the drought I've kept the feed heavy for good growth.
Males get carbuncling before flight feathers.
Now this one really confuses me - mine are all flapping around for the last 2-3 weeks but can't fly yet.
2 have more bunchy/fleshy carbs rather than outlining. This outlining pretty much started along with the wing flapping.
Do males only have knobs at the base of the bill or do females also?

They were supposed to be a drake and 6 ducks. I'm not thinking so.
It's getting late in the year and I was hoping to have babies in the spring - if these are all boys I need to be scrambling to find girls.
Not the mention taking a hard look at who to keep, find homes for or send to freezer camp.

And I am not laughing at you...but along with you. I am going through the same thing. A BUNCH of young ducks and no clue the sexes. Of course I suspect more drakes then hens...naturally !

I used to show Persian cats and Kuvas dogs - oh the fluffing and primping and combing and tweaking - oh my! Assume there are breed standards to be found somewhere?

B, the main thing that freaks me out is if they turn out are ALL males! With not having MARKED differences that make it so "supposedly" easy it could roll out that way. No eggs out of boys and harder to get someone to turn loose of girls than boys. You'd think with 7 that would be outside the odds....but... The way my luck runs..............

So walking that line between enough time to keep them tamed enough and yet not get too attached... If I end up with 4 or 6 boys be too rough on the girl(s)...This is a farm, I eat critters (outside of the cats and dogs) not a park of pets. SIGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhh

(smile) I'll be all right once I get a handle on what I'm looking for, all the conflicting data is driving me nuts. And a short enough trip as it is...LOL!

- was taken the first day i got them. Hence why theyre caged and look pretty bad, Lilly couldnt really walk at the time but now she runs with no issues. Gracen is the top picture he was so excited to be getting his new friends.

Just got done reading all 303 pages.Loved all of it.Don't have any muscovies yet but i'm going to Pick 5 up at 8 in the morning.4 ducks and a drake. I cant wait!!! The duck colors are 1)Lilac Pied 2)Silver 3)Black 4)shes going to surprise me i told her too.The drake is Lilac.I'm buying them from a BYC member.After reading this thread iim even more excited.
