I'd love to 'see' her! it has just started popping out in the last week or two, i should attempt a better picture but they hate the camera.. Yep, she sucks, i am looking around finally spot her.. she bolts for the trees.

Did get a decent shot of one of the trio that i got.. you can see the other two in behind.

They sure are pretty. How many of your drakes did you find homes for?

don't tell mama but I think her daughter is prettier. and you can barely see the blue dots on Mamas head now so she'll probably molt out to complete white head.

Lydia, we have 2 drakes who never look bright white. The rest do very well to stay almost spotless. One drake refuses to get in water deeper than his knees!

Don't think there are calico Muscovies Yet. lol

Hmmm I thought I saw that listed as a color......have to go search again and see if I can find it.
Fawn and blue combines the colors and know I saw a picture on this thread.
If not........something to work for ....a challange just set! Woohooo!

OK, calico is a listed color - not show standard approved. still have to find what the genetics are to produce. In cats it's a female only deal so sexlinked tied to chromosomes. Need pied gene obviously and one parent needs to be red/cream and the other black/blue. Can be either calico or dilute calico.

So anybody that has info on calico I'd love to hear from you on it!

Please give link to this, i didn't know this, but I'm not into the genetics just love all the colors they come in.

Just the one i traded for that trio of girls, i have had some inquires but with the high costs of feeds, upcoming winter no one wants them. The lady i know that i got the trio from said she saw some going at Auction for 2$? yeah, no way... they eat that a day.. i'd be throwing money away.

For now they are with the flock, a touch bratty but being turning 4mths they aren't completely over the edge, i am planning on a drake flock for spring since they cannot stay obviously with the rest of the birds or all heck will break loose.

I don't know what else to do beyond that.
