Hello everyone! I was just wondering if anyone could give me any help. I have had my muscovy duck for about about 5 months now ( I got him at 3 weeks old) and I was wondering if anyone could tell if it was a boy or girl?? I just assumed he is a boy as I've named him Leonard haha.. But please if anyone could tell me it would be greatly appreciated.

If your duck is 5 months old, its definitely a female By this age a male should have a lot more caruncling (red stuff on its face)

I disagree i have some males that are 5mths by mid month and they don't all have lots of facial flesh... and yes they are males.. 100%.. this guy is an example of one of boys i mean.

i agree here my hens do have a lot less though. and mine are a bit older than 5 months.

does it hiss or make like a soft peeping/qucking sound? if it is hisses then i would say 100% drake

You can (well I can anyway) tell by the head shape that it's a drake. Pretty handsome too and I'm not normally too fond of the white-headed ones.

You can (well I can anyway) tell by the head shape that it's a drake. Pretty handsome too and I'm not normally too fond of the white-headed ones.

I can usually see the girly in the head BUT i did have one fool me.. yet, it 100% is a duck but it's head is not as nicely edged as most of my girls... there is another thread this poster started a side shot with the chest leans me to drake as I told them.
