I always thought both genders of muscovies had the mohawk. One of the members thinks my white duck is an female. I wish I knew someone close to me did vent sexing to find out 100% of the gender of them. I heard stories of thought their muscovy was an female and it came out to be male and that they are hard to sex by looking at them.

Patience you'll know in another couple weeks I'm thinking. and both do have Mohawks just the drakes show it more often. Get some pics of the legs from front to side view of together and separate. Just looking at the video it looked like your white Scovies had slender legs like ducks do.

My female doesn't seem to have the Mohawk her feathers on her head are pretty much like a regular duck, of course her feathers do get pulled out from to much loving

Come to think of it my ducks daughter did have a bit of a Mohawk,not near big like a males though.

Not always! I'll try to take pics of my girl scovy. She, first, got a mohawk and will always show it when something catches her attention.

And she is definitely a girl.

Mine do the same thing, they just aren't show offs like the boys are.

It's true the female I have now you would never know she had one I have never seen it and she is five years old,but her daughter I forgot defiantly did have one and showed it

she passed away one year after she hatched

I'm sorry you lost her she sure was a cutie. my youngest duck 5 months old now is starting to get one, i can see a few feathers beginning to poke up on top of her head.

For sure the ducks do(have the mohawk) My one dusty is a hot head and she raises her a lot... but i have other ducks where you'd almost never see it.. the drakes do it way more, when i had all the boys they would all go off and up rose that 'hawk lol
