Also it depends on the duck if she will line her nest with down or not. My one duck pulls a lot of down when she's nesting but my other two never line the nest with down.

How odd, all mine have... i mean what do they use otherwise? do they have access then to alternatives? mine do not.

Mine will add some down but not much they use the shaving they sleep on.

If there in the nest box just shaving or a lot of the time they make there own nest in my horses hay loft so in that case hay.

Mine will add some down but not much they use the shaving they sleep on.

Mine make an almost a triple layer cake out of the shavings.. it's amazing how they pile them but then with dusty since it was winter we really threw some in so she could.

i went outside this morning and there were two more so i think both girls are laying but all the eggs were ice cold. they are dead hu?

i thought muscovies were good mothers, should i just started picking the eggs up as they lay them ore leave them and see? i love my girls and their man so i want the little peepers to hatch badly. it makes me sad to think that they are all going to die.

I'm confused, are they in broody mode or just laying? if they haven't even started to brood the eggs they aren;t dead, they just haven't started.

i am new to ducks! lol this is the first time i have ever had any lay so i have no idea what they should or shouldn't do. they didn't make a nest and one girl isn't laying her eggs in anything. she's just dropping them. but they are both being a little meaner then normal, biting at me. they are first time moms so i don't know if they'll do what they should or not.
