We do too, well DH has been playing mama. These are his to raise. The babies are buffs and a blue Swedish. They had not met any of the others before this outing. It was a nice getting to know ya field trip.

Eventually the other Scovie girl came over and together they talked to 'em. They left them on their own but continued to watch and wouldn't let the other ducks get too close to them.

We took our 3 week old ducklings into the newly reseeded front pen. The minute the little ones started chirping Collard started trying to figure out how to get to them. She followed them all over the yard talking to them.
I love your scovie duck she's vary pretty!!

Here's a pic of my two sister scovies sitting together on 19 eggs. I also have one sitting on 11 eggs in the chicken coop.

Nice Pictures! The two broodies on one nest remind me of the yin-yan symbol (aside from the colouring of course )

Are they getting along with each other or are they bothering each other?

I also love these pictures of the adopted ducklings

@ Miss Lyida: I do believe that they are muscovies but I had never seen muscovies standing upright like that so I was interested what others would have to say about that

When I have to catch one of my girls I usually herd them into their house and they always go into the corner and stand tall and try to look like a runner, Now my drakes look more like Jackie Gleason, well you might not know who he is, so they look more like Sumo wrestlers .

I had to google for Jackie Gleason, so I think I know what you mean

Fuzzball's wings are developing a little funny, the primaries and secondaries have really long quills ( or maybe just appear so...) and looked a little disorderly, as if someone had stuck them into the wing without caring for their order. First I suspected angle wing, but the wrists did develop correctly, and the wings look better now. Maybe I can manage to get a good picture. I guess I would have to catch her for that, but the young ones are so not used to being picked up and carried around so they make a lot of fuzz, squeak and try to get free.
