I've 15 ducks. Have found only 9 nests. Only able to pull 4 doz eggs for nosh before brooding in earnest.
I'm not much for baloot.......
Could have 200 ducklings marching in, swarming, surrounding the house on me ....
How many clutches a year do they have? 3 - 4........

I do have a Drake and 2 Ducks, but neither of the Ducks seem interested in creating a nest, they are content laying with the hens (but fingers crossed they will give me some ducklings someday

)

Well totally different country but do you have any local classifieds? that is how i found some, then the rest i hatched then some i found through a local provincial online swap lol (mind you my original 4 came through a hatchery)

I have looked through our classifieds, and I guess I wanted to find a reputable place to get them since not everyone is "honest" about the ducks when you get them. I wouldn't be opposed to some Runners... but I love me some Scovies (not for eating... just their lovely nature

BUT... my cousins Scovie just hatched out 15 ducklings so in a few weeks I will get my ducklings!

This is my new Muscovy Hen. She needs a name. I "rescued" her from a meat bird farm. She now has the unique opportunity to be a house pet. We finished her indoor enclosure today and I'm working on making her a makeshift diaper until I can afford a good one, She seems fairly calm and isn't afraid of people.
