Wow my 3 muscovie ducks hatched out 5 chicks and 33 babys. I have 2 ducks still sitting. They are stealing eggs from each other lol silly ducks. I dont have a way to upload any pictures but will as soon as i can.

Dog would work BUt i don't clip nails, tempting trust me!! keep a bleed stop powder close by if you do, in case you nick the quick.

I have never heard of bleed stop powder before.

Good idea but only if you are strong to hold the males when filing there nails.

Aussie - bleed stop powders are available at most farm supply and pet stores. You can also use flour and (I believe) corn starch . . . Or was it corn meal???

I had a hen lay an egg in a scovy nest and it hatched...by itself ... A week before the ducklings. Thankfully I had a friend with chicks in the brooder who could take it.

Interesting. One of the reasons I loaded up with scovies was wanting to use them to brood chicken eggs.
Zero luck with turkey, guinea and chickens! So I'd given up the idea and went with an incubator - and you come in here and say they hatched for you! hmmmm Maybe I'm just not holding my mouth right!
