I have 1 drake that's 10 and 2 ducks that will be 10 in July. They may out live me .Muscovy ducks under good conditions can live up to 20-30 years
I have a half acre fenced in with no climb horse fence and barb wire on top of that. No way could my flock sleep outside we have just about every pred known to man they'd be picked off pretty quick.Do u have a duck yard , because mine are free range , they don't sleep in a cage either , they just like to stay out , so I always have plenty of room
Duckie is a girl right? very pretty
I've never known TSC to have Muscovy ducklings, might try your states thread at 'where am i where are you' And if Duckie is 9 months old then girl for sure, Scovys' take longer to mature I'd say your eggs will start coming any day now.LOL I dunno. I always called Duckie He/him since we got him, but all the signs are pointing toward girl. I said Duckie will be a HIM to me till I get an egg. People on this thread have been guessing girl all along. We started building a nice enclosure with nest boxes, DH says "But boy ducks don't lay eggs." 9 months old now, if I'm ever gonna get an egg....
Either way, I'm going to get some ducklings very soon. Just trying to find some, or anyone that will have some. Our tractor supply doesnt have muscovies listed on the breeds for sale thing, and when I went in there were no babies left to look at. They had them before, but I really have no idea if they were listed then either. Trying to avoid mail order but everything is just too far away.

Maybe so I have never heard of a feed store selling them, but there are a few hatcheries that do.I think it's illegal to for feedstores to sell Muscovies.
