If she is sitting on that many eggs then she's going to need some help. the ducklings will have a much better chance having 2 mamas watching over them.

Smooshy is very sweet.  She lets me pet her while she is on the nest, just chirps at me.  She has an evening time ritual where she comes off the nest, flies to the pond, takes a bath and then flies back.  She comes over to me, says hello and then back on the nest.

Here's a question that just popped in my mind.  Do they loose their flight feathers when their eggs hatch similar to Canada geese?  Helps keep them grounded to take care of their babies until they can fly.

Ok, I just checked their water thinking it would be only a third full, but in 3 days its only a fourth empty. I dont know if penny is getting off the nest to eat and drink anymore and thats a problem. What do I do?

When mine are brooding and they aren't getting off on their own I take them outside and close the door long enough for them to have food water and bath time.

well the food and water is just a few steps away. Not far at all! Hoeever taking them off the nest, wouldnt that cause more issues as her ditching the nest?

Yeah so they're peeping a lot when I got home from school but I think only one is peeping can the others hatch even though there not peeping yet , like will they start peeping eventually

Buck dont worry, theyll hatch. You hear peeping when they have internally and externally pipped.. give them time

Ok do ducklings sleep still when they're in the shell because I got up at 2:00 am to check on them and they were really quiet but when I checked on them this mornin they started peeping again so can they sleep?

Also they haven't broken the egg I read that they will start peeping around day twelve but won't hatch till 8 days later so I think I might have been falsely told

They will peep when they pip internally, which with Muscovies is about day 33, not day 12. External pip should follow in 24-48 hours, not 8 days, so you were misinformed.

Kk I won't worry God had it in his hands and they know when to hatch , I'm sorry I do this with every hatch I get really nervous
