Muscovy keepers share your pics!

Yes they are! I was nervous at first cause my older ones are a LOT older (2 are almost 4 weeks and 3 are 6 weeks or so) but I put them all in there and ahe doesn't seem to mind at all!

you'll have to watch your older ducklings with the newly hatched ones, it's so easy for the tinies to get trampled when there are so many feet in the nest. and even older ducklings can pick on the new ones.

Yeah I will :)
Im not too concerned yet as the babies are all tucked under momma and the older ones are more interested in the water pan lol. I'll definitely watch them all as momma brings the little ones out though

Question time again... is it possible for a drakelet to be developing flight feathers early? Or a ducklet to be bigger at 6 weeks? Lol which is more likely? I have 4 definite girls, and what I thought was 8 definite boys. "George" is big like the boys, but has just as much flight feathers coming in as the 4 girls. I thought George was a girl until it outgrew the other girls. The other 7 boys have zero flight feathers coming in. Not even a little. George and the girls have nearly inch long pinfeathers.

I'm so confused lol

Sometimes they can be moved but it seems once they have picked out a spot it is hard to get them to continue to brood once moved. I have done it successfully from one building to hatching coop, but you just never know from one duck to the next. But you may break her from brooding but may save her life too.

I finally found where she is brooding. She is underneath one of my wooden sheds. There is no way I can get to the eggs. Rather than have her out by herself tranversing my yard at dusk going back to the pen, I just put her food and water by the shed. She comes out and eats and drinks, then goes make under. While not completely safe where she is, it's probably fairly safe. The person I bought her from had all the muscovies and others free-ranging day and night, so it's little different than her "previous life". Hopefully, she'll be okay. At least it's cool under there. I don't want to lose her to a predator, but I don't want a miserable duck either. This was my "compromise".

Question: 3 of my day old ducklings are all white.. mom is chocolate and dad is black pied. Will these babies be all white or do you think they will develope more color as they grow? Because all of my other ones seem to be black/black pied..

I wouldn't leave food and water there over night though it will draw preds.

If they are yellow with out a speck of color on them more than likely they will be all white.Sure are cute
